Learn About Our History

The history of Umpqua Sand & Gravel starts in 1965 with Frank Guido and Rex Garriott. This duo operated the company until 1987, when brothers Patrick and Kelly Guido bought the business from Frank, their father. After 20 years of productive business, Patrick retired. Kelly took over full-time and ran Umpqua Sand & Gravel with his two sons, Wes and Brant. Being a family-owned and family-operated business is still important to us.

Ever since the beginning, it's never been just about us at Umpqua Sand & Gravel. We are deeply invested in the Roseburg, OR community, and we've always been focused on giving back. Today, we employ over 40 people, and we also support numerous businesses throughout the community. We also donate generously to community events, individual projects, and other associations. Over the past decade, we've given back nearly half a million dollars to our community.

Our Business Expansion

No matter what other endeavors we undertake, we know we're still a quarry at Umpqua Sand & Gravel. Over the years, our business has grown. We started with an original mine for sand and gravel operations, but we have since expanded with additional service options and locations.
